Armageddon: "Only desperate people get enlightened"

Micheal once said, and I am sure he was
speaking for himself, but also for me:
"Only desperate people get enlightened"
All my life my personal Armageddon has raged within me.
A continuous battle between Darkness and Light; unconditional love and naked fear for control of my mind and personality. I'm not fooled by the myriad manifestations anymore, I see these two primal forces.
I am being washed down the rapids and I hear the thunder of a great waterfall ahead. I need great strength of mind right now, not to fight fear ~ that is futile, but merely to survive. When I am nearly overwhelmed always to surface again, spitting and choking, separate and apart from it. To fail may mean a sort of freedom as an agent of the dark side ~ a negative enlightenment (David Icke) ~ or paranoid schizophrenia. This will not happen. When the dark side comes, I enter it deeply and dissolve it from within. Viewed with non-attachment and awareness it dissipates into pure energy.
I choose the light.
And the light will choose me.
